AMB – Àrea Metropolitana De Barcelona (ES)
The Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB) is the public administration for 36 municipalities over 636 km², home to over 3.2 million people. Shaped by a century of urban growth, it is one of Europe’s largest metropolitan areas and the main urban hub of the western Mediterranean, generating half of Catalonia’s GDP.
Role in the project
AMB supports the analysis of challenges and opportunities for inclusive metropolitan planning and helps identify needs and solution models for digital and climate transitions. It will join the Digital Transition Operational Hub, contribute to the working groups on potential replicators, and develop a roadmap for AMB’s digital transition aligning local efforts with national and EU policies through multi-level cooperation.
