CMM – Città Metropolitana di Milano (IT)
The Metropolitan City of Milan (CMM) includes 33 municipalities over 1,575 km² with over 3 million residents. Established in 1860, it replaced the Province in 2015 under Law No. 56/2014. CMM’s key roles include strategic planning, coordinating territorial and environmental policies, managing the digital transition, and fostering international openness.
Role in the project
CMM supports the analysis of challenges and opportunities for inclusive metropolitan planning and helps identify needs and solution models for digital and climate transitions. It will join the Digital Transition Operational Hub, contribute to the working groups on potential replicators, and develop a roadmap for CMM’s digital transition aligning local efforts with national and EU policies through multi-level cooperation.
